We invite you to join us for the Winter 4x4 Jamboree held in Hurricane/St. George, Utah, (2 hours from Las Vegas) January 12-15, 2022. This spectacular event features world-class rock crawling combined with gorgeous views of Zion National Park, Pine Valley Mountain, Sand Hollow Reservoir and more! You can also choose less challenging trails beginning with ratings at a 2. The Winter 4x4 Jamboree is a non-competitive trail run event for high clearance 4x4 vehicles. Groups of participants are led on rated trails by experienced trail leaders and helpers. Trails are rated on a 10-point scale, where a rating of 1 would be for graded roads that may be easily traveled by most cars and a rating of 10 is for purpose-built vehicles (buggies) with sophisticated suspensions and drivetrains operated by expert drivers.
The number of vehicles on each trail is limited to ensure participants have an enjoyable experience. Early registrants will have the most choices as we close trails when the limit is reached. More technical trails are limited to groups of 10 and other trails may have up to 25 vehicles. Because of the different capabilities of full-size vehicles (Jeep, Toyota, Samurai, buggy etc.) vs. ATVs / UTVs, we are limiting the event to full-size vehicles only.
The staging area at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Hurricane features individual lanes and starting times assigned to each trail. Registration information will added to this site soon but generally we begin registering participants in early November. Once you register, your selected lanes and starting times will be in your driver packet to be picked up by you the day before your selected trails depart the Fairgrounds. Watch this space for registration updates, but be sure to save the dates -- January 12, 13, 14 and 15, 2022. That is correct, we have added a day to Jamboree but you only need to register for the days and trails you want. We are also adding after-trails activities including a bonfire, live music and other activities.
This Event is organized and run by the very dedicated volunteers from non-profit 501 (c)(3) organizations. Desert Roads and Trails Society (Desert RATS) manages the event with substantial assistance from Utah Public Lands Alliance (UPLA). Last year, thanks to all our sponsors and attendees, we were able to begin planning a new, expanded staging area on Sand Mountain in concert with the Bureau of Land Management, UPLA, Utah 4 Wheel Drive Association and Share Trails/Blue Ribbon Coalition. This is a $200,000 project made possible by you and all the other participants. We were also able to make a significant contribution to Washington County Search and Rescue. All these groups work tirelessly to keep our trails open, safe and available to our sport.
FLAGS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL SAND MOUNTAIN TRAILS! Trail Flags can be purchased on site. During registration, other merchandise will be able to be purchased at our store here.
NO ALCOHOL WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE TRAILS OR AT THE FAIRGROUNDS!
You will be asked to leave and the local authorities will be notified if you are not complying with our rules.

First, if you haven't done so previously, create an account on this website. It’s free. If you have already created an account, do not create a new one - just log on to your current account.
Second, if you haven't done so previously, provide information about your vehicle’s make, model, license number, and modifications (to ensure you will be capable of reasonably running the trails you wish to sign up for). If you already have created one or more vehicles, please update them with new information, if necessary.
Third, Once trail registration opens you will be able to register for the trails you would like to run. You will click on the large REGISTER button on the home page, select your trails and order your official Jamboree apparel. Add this all to your Cart and then Check Out.
Note: If you have friends/relatives you want to register, have them create their own account with vehicles. We need a different driver name and license number for each vehicle on the trail. OHV tags can be used as license numbers for unlicensed vehicles.
Another note: If you are a return participant please understand that Covid-19 forced a few changes at the 2021 event. For 2022 we are planning a host of new activities. We will do a better job working with our food truck vendors and there will be a raffle, as usual, with thousands of dollars worth of off-roading gear up for grabs. There will also be an auction for a few top-shelf items and there will be a cost-free kids’ raffle as well as some new post-trail activities in the late afternoon/early evening.
And finally, a special note regarding Covid-19: We hope the pandemic is just a bad memory seen through the rearview mirror. However, we reserve the right to alter the schedule as necessary to conform with any local and/or state regulations regarding a response should this scourge return. This could include cancellation of the event. Please monitor our website for the most current information.
